Raspberry PI & Openelec Time resolution .

OpenElec showing epoch time at every boot..( 1 January 1970)

There is no real time clock RTC on the PI, https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/faqs/#performanceRTC

So we have to use external sources, ideally your home router, but also external sources are available, Edit the file below to include you preferred time source

OpenELEC:/etc/connman/main.conf

FallbackTimeservers = 0.pool.ntp.org,1.pool.ntp.org,2.pool.ntp.org,3.pool.ntp.org

Add Timeservers manually in
System | OpenELEC | Network | NTP servers (for example):

Timeserver #1 0.pool.ntp.org
Timeserver #2 1.pool.ntp.org
Timeserver #3 2.pool.ntp.org

which is then written in:

OpenELEC:/storage/.cache/connman/settings
Timeservers=0.pool.ntp.org;1.pool.ntp.org;2.pool.ntp.org;
